Indivision AGA for the A1200?

Hi,

Anybody tried that 15khz rgb to VGA converter that they have listed on ebay for $92, would really like to know how it works before I spend cash on one.

I have this one http://www.ambery.com/rgbcgatovgac.html and it works great. No ghosting or artifacts and does PAL to NTSC conversion. The max. input resolution is PAL: High Res 640x256 or PAL: High Res Laced 640x512.

I also have this for HDMI connectivity, but it does not do PAL to NTSC conversion. It also works great, beautiful picture on 60" TV http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWNX:IT
It does require a SCART cable that can also be purchased on eBay.

Comparing a 15kHz converter with the indivison aga is stupid.

Maybe and maybe not. For workbench work you don't need any of the devices and just use one of the Productivity modes. For games it doesn't matter as they are low res anyway. For those who need PAL to NTSC conversion for games the 15kHz converter is actually pretty convenient, especially if you have additional 15kHz computers (ZX Spectrum, Atari, C64, etc). I'm not taking anything away from Indivision, but both products have its purpose.

Oh, that 15KHz adaptor also has some jagged artifacts in NTSC with vertical lines.

If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the adaptor issues, that would be wonderful. At least until I get an Indivision. I have the 15KHz adaptor connected directly to RGB, and the H and V sync pins.

I think there might be different versions/manufacturers of this adapter or maybe it's the same one just sold under many different brands. I have mine connected via this connector http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=42&products_id=183 and the picture is crystal clear, no artifacts.
