AROS compatibility guide for MODERN hardware?
« on: September 29, 2012, 10:45:34 AM »
Is there a website that lists modern components that work with AROS properly?

If I go out and buy an i7 3600k for example which motherboards are best, I think this is really important if AROS wants to grow in popularity. People building modern super fast AROS machines based on i7 tech is the only way forward IMO.

I want to use it on a brand new machine I am building, the machine will be dual boot with Windows 7 (so I can get to work on my DirectX 11 port of a classic C64 game!) and also AROS.

CPU will be the fastest i7, memory probably 16gb etc and ARES doesn't really cater for me in this situation. So you can see I need fairly modern support even if the graphics run in standard driver mode etc.

My game is written on the the Crysis engine so it is all Win7 development, thought it would be nice to get AROS on a second partition that's all :)
