IMHO, a way to a future for MorphOS could be to  go ARM and then break into the Boxee type of market. Together with Genesi's Efika MX61 they could become a Dlink Boxee Box competitor (especially with an option of putting a real DVB-T tuner inside). Start now, the OS is quickly ported if you cut the ties to the Amiga legacy, put some real effort into the application level instead, and have products out and ready for Christmas! ;) :)

(BTW, the Boxee Box is a really cool thing, you should check it out if you haven't! :))

EDIT2: Boxee_Apple_comparison_Swedish_2011_11_28.pdf (In Swedish, but the tables should be understandable to everyone anyway)

I agree the boxee is pretty cool, but it is an appliance.  I'd love to see morphOs ported to ARM, just not to compete with toasters :)

Please read my first link in my post above to get a hint of my view for writing so. Other than that, I agree with you that it's the "desktop" that I find most interesting, all the other stuff would/could "just" be the enabler (if it works out well) that could make real revenue and move the development from a hobby level to a professional/employed level again. Like I said in above mentioned post... ;) :)
