my A4000D is here!

I am, frankly, speechless.

It's a 4000Dcr with a 040/25 board, full RAM, no battery damage.

It also came with a NIB mouse and a Video Toaster keyboard (all colorful and stuff).

I hear ya - but compared to my A1200 I had originally, and the 2000 with 1M chip and 2M fast and a 68000?  I don't have to wait for a file drawer to open, I have super hi res, midgame Civ doesn't take seconds to refresh, and Syndicate goes so fast its like playng a 2D shooter!  First upgrade will probably be a Deneb or 3.1 roms (it has 3.0) and if I can find a copy of AmigaWriter2 or any other word processor that will open DOC.  I used to use final writer, but I don't remember if it opened up doc files or not.

I mean, I wouldn't mind if a CSPPC fell off a CSPPC truck into my lap...

And at any time I get into lightwave or alladin, then I might toy around with speed upgrade or maybe a zoram.  My first goal tho I think is getting connectivity so I don't have to shuttle Aminet scores back and forth on a cdrom.

I would not bother with a CSPPC card unless you can get it under $500. Even with that, they are not very stable. I spent over $800 my DCE crap card then it died.  Lost my money and card.  Never again.  I do have a CSMKII card and it's still running fine.  Also have a GVP 060 card, love it!  I highly recommend the GVP 4060 card from Software slut.  See if they still have some.  Well worth it for a 4000.
