Me, I like Mandriva, everyone else likes Ubuntu, which i like to think of as the Windows of the Linux world: VERY popular, but bloated, slower and looks like pants. And they even follow the pattern of putting out a dog of a distro every now and then-heard a few people call Ubuntu 10 "Linux's Vista"

I'm using Xubuntu 10 right now.  It's not bad.  I had been using Ubuntu 10 beta but found it very buggy, especially for a LTS release.  Try this out- it will help you pick a distro:
