External Cd rom for A1200

Hi:
I just wanna let you know: I already have an A1200 with internal cd rom running, but as I was getting more and more spare parts, now I have finally another Amiga 1200 running. As the first, main one is full of extras, and with some holes on it... (cd rom, external Hard drive CF, output for the USB and Indivision Aga), I wanted this to be outside stock, but as I decided to use a Classic Workbench 3.9 as OS, and I would like to listen some Cd music, I had the idea to add an external Cd.
 
I already had a Cd from an old Pc I found at the garbage (didn't even need an screwdriver to take it out to home) (see photo at the end), so I thought how to connect it to the Amiga. I was thinking to put a 4 device buffered interface, but I didn't like the idea of how it was going to look in the trapdoor under the floppy.
 
Finally I've found an Amiga Pcmcia Cd-rom controller Archos at Ebay for 26€, without the cd, which I think is the best solution for it.

 
What I think will be different will be the posibility to connect an audio output directly connected to the Cd rom to listen Mp3 directly through the cd . I wonder if it will be as if I had a sound card connected to the Amiga. What do you say?

Ok: What's the diference between an internal cd rom connected internally to a 4 way interface (output to the right and left Amiga audios connected to a HF equipment) and an external cd rom connected directly to the High fidelity equipment? Will I listen a cd better?
 
Better explained, will it be managed always throught the Amiga or not? Beause if not, I won't have interruptions if I open another thing...

Well, I'll keep this thread by my own...
Today I received the Archos Cd overdrive and the Cd fits perfectly inside with all the connections. The Archos came with a non original Siemens power supply:

12V...1000mA
 
The thing is that when I connect it to the Cd nothing happens. No light and the cd door doesn't open. I connected to the output a multimeter inside and outside at the same time and it gave me around 5volts, but I don't know much about electricity...
 
I connected the cd to an internal Molex output I have in the other Amiga, that outputs 12v, 5v and Ground, that is what the Cd needs, and it works fine, opening and so.
 
Is this Siemens a right power supply for it?
What can be wrong?

Sorry, as I said I don't know much about electricity, but it seems you are right. I only get 5 volts on the yellow cable, but nothing on the red one. It must be the Archos card that is wrong.
