Lateral HD on A1200
« on: September 12, 2010, 07:05:54 PM »
Hi:
As I don't have friends to show my improvements with the Amiga, I want to show an small but nice one I've just done: To put the HD compact flash aside the Amiga.
Why? I had always the Amiga opened, to use the Compact flash HD with WinUAE, and to change between different CF Hard Drives I have. Finally, putting the HD aside with an slot on the Amiga, I can close the Amiga with all the screws (I had to search for them).
So this was the chance to try the internal cd rom I installed months ago. As you can see it opens and closes perfect, and the HD on it's side I believe is great.

What do you think?

To the ones that didn't answer: haven't you thought putting it outside like this? Don't you like it?

So you have the IDE-CF adapter on top of the PCMCIA? But there isn't much room there, and if you haven't got a Pcmcia card on, you have only the upper "wall" to guide the CF into. In mine it's like connecting the card to the pcmcia slot.

One more.
The Ide-Cf is holded with a screw at the lower part, to the sheilding, and with double side tape and a glued rubber to get it higher at the top part.
To make the slot I only used a drill to make holes along it and a chinese file to give it the right measurements.

Yes, it has to be easier that way. I prefer mine because I can take the card from above and below, and over the Pcmcía card you'll have to take it by it's sides, but it isn't a real problem...

I've seen too the Ide-cf in the trapdoor under the floppy drive, but I will need that place for the Indivision Aga connection whenever it will be for sale again...

I want to add something, and I don't mean your're answering right now, but I love this web because now it's half past one AM (tomorrow's holiday here) and there are fifteen people watching it...

Hi: It's Os 3.9 on both on the video; Dopus from Amikit conversion and on Sys4Aga too. They are 16Gb Sandisk Ultra and 32Gb Trascend Compact Flash

And they are Boing Bagged 2 because I felt I was loosing chip memory with more BBags

BTW I want to thank to Cammy because I first saw Dopus installation in her videos, althought I didn't use finally the Dopus installation she told me (was expensive) and made the Amikit conversion to a real Amiga...

Does anyone know about those graphics on the Amikit conversion windows?

Thanks so much, but I want to know if someone has Dopus Magellan installed if the icons in the windows are the same of Amikit (the ones I have installed on my Amiga):

It's an HP (that's what it's written) TS-L462, althought it seems it's Toshiba-Samsung. It seems it can read DVD's (I haven't tried it) and record Cd's (I don't know how):

I'm not sure if I have asked before, but are my icons at the windows what everybody have with Dopus or are they only for the Amikit version?

Sorry for the delayed answer, but I've been connecting a Mega Cd to my Mega Drive and installing two switches so I can play now Ntsc and change regions...  http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/console/sega/md1switches.htm

To tell the truth the thing wasn't I don't know how to burn cd's on the Amiga but that I can make the same on Winuae or directly on the PC, so I've never searched how to do it...

Nobody knows about Dopus and my icons?
