Trying to get PCMCIA CF support...
« on: June 20, 2012, 08:32:12 PM »
So I've got a CF card and a PCMCIA adapter for it, to ease file transfer to my 1200. However, I'm having trouble getting fat95 installed so I can get cfd installed so I can actually mount the thing. I downloaded fat95 v3.11 from Aminet, but the "Install" icon in the /english folder doesn't seem to work. Looking at it, it looks like it just calls fat95/l/install95 - when I run that from the CLI, it complains that it's supposed to be called as "install95 ." Language is easy enough to figure out, but what's rlw? Should it normally be this trouble?

Yeah, it kind of looked from other threads like you could, I just wasn't sure, since it has a config file. I'll give it a shot.

No luck; both devices are installed, and the "CF0:" icon for cfd will run, but it won't mount the volume.

The card I've got now is from a Hong Kong outfit called First Champion Technology; works fine on XP and Win2k, but I'll try and nab a SanDisk card for comparison. Shoulda known this would be one of the things where it doesn't pay to go with  cheap small brands...

It says CF0: is already mounted; when I try to go there, it tells me there's no disk present.
