Gee, let's see. If I wanted a PC in a C64 case, I could gut a broken C64 and install one of many inexpensive and tiny motherboards in it, and then install Linux and VICE on it...or I could pay CUSA to do the same thing and help fund whatever it is they're going to do to the Amiga name next. GEE I WONDER WHICH I'D PREFER.

Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/MT-32/D-10, Oberheim Matrix-6, Yamaha DX7/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini, Ensoniq Mirage/SQ-80, Sequential Circuits Prophet-600, Hohner String Performer

Personally, as I've said before. I'm gutting an A500, A600 or A1200 and using that case. There's already keyboard adapters for that.
Well, I did say "if I wanted." I really don't, 'cause I'm just not that enamored of keyboard-housed computers (laptops excepted.) But if I did, I sure as hell wouldn't pay someone to do it for me.

So, for your $595.

C64x Basic:
IntelĀ® Atom D525 1.80GHz (fastest current Atom)
Mini ITX motherboard based on the Intel NM10 chipset with Nvidia Ion graphics (DX10 compatible)
Multi format card reader
2GB DDR2 memory
160GB hard drive
No DVD drive*
No wifi*
* included in the $695 C64x Standard (which includes a larger 250GB hard drive)
Hey, wow, that's slightly nicer than my $350 netbook from 2009! Only they've traded the screen for a DVD drive!

You must be really envious of the new commodore for all the comments. I also have a netbook, I haven't seen any that will take 4gb, or dvd drives. the keyboard really isn't comparable either. I mean at 6'2" my hands are kinda too big to do anything other than one finger pokes on most laptops. However, I have become very comfortable with the C64 keyboard in the 30 years I have been using them.
Yeah, those are admittedly shortcomings of netbooks. But, uh, $250 to $550 worth of difference? Ha ha ha ha, hell no.

This all sounds like a bunch of Sour Grapes to me.  The company is off the ground, they seem to be excited about their future.  If you are going to buy a cheap computer what's wrong with having one that gives you fond memories and provides you with pleasure.  How much is that worth?
Given that this company is yet another player in the great game of breaking up and diluting the Commodore names while having little to nothing to do with the product that the name originally signified and their primary relation with the CBM/Amiga community has been sending over a PR rep whose main activity was insulting anybody with the temerity to suggest that maybe we'd be interested in something that wasn't PC clone hardware in a novelty case, you'll please forgive us a sour grape or two.
