PS.. for the Samba shuffle to use a CD on a normal run of the mill PC this could also work for you.

  I disagree! It seems to me the problem and weak element in the chain is the A1200 itself. Get yourself a SX32 Pro50 transfer the 2.5" hard disk / IDE CF card into the CD32 and there you have a super portable mini-AmigaCD system with fast transfer speeds! Good luck finding a SX32 though ;-)
