This reminds of something I read a while back..
Some guy wanted to upgrade his old computer, so he goes and buys a new , top of the range CPU (which at the time was a slot mounted P2).
He takes it home, fits it..doesn`t boot, he figures the CPU is faulty and phones the shop and complains, they tell him to bring the whole system in to look at.
When the shop tech opens the case, he couldn`t believe what he saw..the P2 was mounted in an ISA slot..
He told him that the CPU should go in the CPU slot...and this 486 didn`t couldn`t take slot type CPUs, and asks how he even managed to make it fit in the ISA slot..
"Well, it took me a while, but I eventually managed to file it down till it went in"
It goes without saying he didn`t get a refund.
