Indivision AGA MK2 issues
« on: July 07, 2020, 11:16:16 PM »
I recently purchased second hand Indivision AGA MK2 scandoubler for my Amiga 1200.

When I installed the card it wasn't a tight fit on the Lisa chip. Is that correct?

I had to apply some pressure for it to sit correctly.

On my CRT the image looks perfect my on my LCD monitor the grey background looks abit purple?

wearing an anti static wrist strap I did touch the card when its on and the screen changes to all sorts of colours depending where I touch the board.

Is my scandoubler faulty?

Okay so after playing around with it I didn't apply enough brute force  :D Its looking like it should now

What is the best resolution I should have with the following monitor

iiyama Prolite XB2283HS

Ive currently got it set up with a VGA in the monitor going into a VGA > DVI adapter.

I was thinking about getting a HDMI > DVI adapter, is that recommended or should I stick to VGA?

Also I can see some "ghosting" on the screen, what is the best way to get rid of that?

Thanks

I have been playing with this config tool all evening and I can't get my head around it. On a 22inch widescreen monitor it seems hard to get a decent resolution especially when gaming with it.

I was messing around installing retrofans config and now now I can't get the resoultion I want. I've got a massive border around the display and a small work bench screen in the middle of my monitor

Thankfully I’ve still got my commodore 1084s.. god thats so much easier to get working   ;D

Is it because I’m using a 16:9 monitor? Am I best to go with a 4:3 display screen instead?

It use to display on full screen before I messed around with it.

That isn’t 1280 x 1040 resolution that it’s outputting

I have done a re-flash on the indivision config but that’s made difference.

You surely changed the PAL-interlace resolution from the default 800x600 to 1280x1024.
If you open the IndivisionAGA config tool, you have to select the PAL-interlace entry on the Left section, the middle section will show a 1280x1024 resolution highlighted. On the Right section you will see a line named "Double" and two cycle-gadgets to the right.
I suppose you have the first set to "S-HiRes" and the second one to "Lines"; change them respectively to "Hires" and "Off" and then click on "Test". It should display the full screen now. If you are happy with the result you can then hit "Apply" and "Save".

You can also select "Default Config" in the "Config" menu, then hit "test", "apply" and "Save" to take it back to factory defaults.

Thanks for your help. I guess its takes abit of time to get your head around the config. :)

So my workbench now looks perfect, but how can I change the resolution for games to make them look less stretched and more like 640 x 256 or is this not possible?

Okay so I have managed to obtain a configuration created by some called "Hans"

The Workbench display is at 1280 x 1024

The display for playing games is at 640 x 512 60Hz

I have replaced my VGA cable with a HDMI going into my monitor then into a HDMI to DVI adapter. The workbench display has vastly improved. I have changed the output setting in the Indivision preferences to DVI

The issue I am now facing is that when I load a game from a floppy or WHDLoad I get the sound to the game but no picture. Just a black screen and a message that pops up saying "No Signal Detected"

Is there an option somewhere I have missed?
