Fact is there is no 64 bit Flash plug in. But there is a way around that. If you get Automatix you can install SwiftFox and SwiftFox Pluggins it is a special version of Firefox for 64 bit that runs a 32 bit version and uses 32bit plug ins works like a charm. But if you want full compatibility with everything I would install 32 bit Kubuntu/Ubuntu 7.04. That is what I have on my 3500 x64 systemand it runs flawlessly. There are many plug ins that have no 64 bit version.

For Graphics/Audio/Video Xine is a must (all stream plugins as well),
Automatix codecs a must. Be carefull with Automatix use only programs that do not already have a Ubuntu version.
Audio editing Audicity 7.04 version
Graphic Editing: Gimp 7.04 version
If you have NVidia or ATI graphics card set it up from the 7.04 version not Automatix.
If you require NTFS read write install ntfs-3g from the 7.04 dist do not use the Automatix install.
Music/Video/Blog support like iTunes Songbird, it is great. Also works with your iPod.

Best mail program by far is Thunderbird.
Wine is a good choice for normal Windows programs. But if you have to have some windows only stuff VirtualBox is the best (no 3d support but it is really fast) this is also available from 7.04 dist (do not use VMware unless you have to) Buy using virtual box you can use Windows Media Player if you need it. If you have WindowsXP installed in VirtualBox you can even have Windows Media Player 11. :-D
