There's often minor issues with all the different PC bios setups and motherboard or add in card chip sets out there. AROS doesn't have all the boot time developer magic put into it that linux and pcbsd have had done to cope with the variety of hardware available to the x86 platforms. Its not a question of age, but of tested support.
