Indivision ECS problem
« on: February 23, 2010, 10:43:36 PM »
Hi, Wouldn't normally join a 2nd amiga forum but because I'm in a rush to sort this problem out I feel I need to join here too, and no offense to "the other board" but they do seem to love their pc's and amiga emulation a bit too much to be ahhh, never mind ... cough!!

ok. Basically, I have this one problem. I'm using an A500 with indi esc, using the very same Denise it came with. Using it with my flatscreen which is a ctx s721a... here's some quick specs:
vertical freq: 60-75hz
resolution: 1280 x 1024
screen size: 17inch

and even thought I've tweaked the config tool (the latest one from their site), the monitor's own settings (not alot to offer here, screen posistion and that's about it), and also workbench 2.05's screen-mode which doesn't help in the slightest because it will only work for that 1 disk I've saved the settings for. doh!
I get this:

I get a nice top clearance but whatever game/app, this a nasty bottom trim? what's up with that?? Do I need a new monitor or is my Denise chip knackered or not seated right? thanks all!

I'm starting to wonder if it's anything to do with the fact I got this 2mb ram upgrade in there, it's the one that replaces fat agnus with super agnus I think, I also had to piggy back the gary chip. Not tried the indivision ecs without it in there. I was told that ram upgrade won't actually be doing anything, but in relation to the problem, I thought it would be a denise chip fault.

Ok I took out the RAM and replaced the original fat agnus and it seems to be ok now.

If I press hard on the left side of the indi, it corrects it self. Shall I just find a metal pin/needle and try and bend that bent pin (the one in the long socket) back?
