Gee thanks for being so positive guys. I am a developer for this phone and an Amiga and AROS user still, you are making me feel so good about this.. I'd just report that your site works great from the phone's new web browser, I'd also say that suspect UAE and 8 bit emulation could be on the way for it too..

I think you guys are going to get a real suprise in a month out and on the marketplace  app store by the end of the year..

If you are curious about the app that I have been working on (think max headroom but not for comedy) for search on any number of different datasources (Oauth/REST, Open Data protocol) with a human host that you can talk to and will speak back to you..

check out our early prototypes..

You guys are going to get a suprise about this phone how easy it is to develop for it versus iphone and android and how many apps are on the way because of this.. I know how many apps are on the way.. Stay tuned mid October and see for yourself. This isn't Windows Mobile..

You know this is not the Kin, this product was done in house, it's not from a company that they bought (Danger you remember the sidekick phone that paris hilton used to run around with)...

This is a completely different and good experience.. Don't talk to me about "they" as programmers I don't talk to you about things I can't do for my own self ;-) Not ready to announce anything right now though..

Best wishes always..

Folks what you are calling a funeral was not a funeral.. That's how these rumors get started, don't take everything you read as fact. That was the Windows Phone 7 developer tools team celebrating the fact that their work was done and they went gold on the tools which happens on September 16th..

Of course when you work on something you think it's the best thing out there and you have a great team.. If this had been Apple would it been has met as negatively by those who have comments? As far as I know (and I know a couple of people in the pictures) this was not an iphone funeral as much as the fact that most of us who have iphones are happy enough with this phone that as soon as it's publically available we will turn our iphones off for good.. Most of these people already have this phone 24/7 obviously..

It just shows you how exaggeration can lead to people here trashing other platforms and people celebrating their own accomplishments..

Shame on you guys.. They have a right to be happy about things they did. The product is quite revolutionary on many fronts.. We'll have to see how it does long term.. It does have a steeper battle with Android, not so much with iphone and IOS devices because Apple alienated a lot of it's developers (like Adobe) with restrictions that the most recently relaxed after getting a ton of bad press about it..

Still a company that keeps 198 huge buildings in operation in just one city (not mentioning many others) can't be doing that bad.. They have in the past only had one funeral that I am aware of and it was for their own product (this current thing wasn't a funeral) and that was IE 6, which everyone wishes was NOT in use even after it's product lifecycle ended a few years ago..

A little homophobic huh? So you guys really think that is a guy in the pink dress?? LMAO...  Did you guys ever see the Michael Jackson video Thriller? I think you guys are just looking for something here.. I can assure you the "person" in the pink dress isn't a trannie and that's a costume).

By the way for the guy who is saying that stock has dipped, that has nothing to do with profitability for the most part in a company structured like microsoft..

I'd direct you guys here.. and I know you won't like it ;-)

Bloodline: I would disagree with you, I have been doing Amiga C/C++ since way before it was ever ANSIFIED (that's over 25 years I started back in '84 on a proto A1000)... I would just tell you in C# and with XAML/.NET I can do an app (the same app in about 1/4 of the time with the same functionality).

And this is way more elegant.. Of course it is managed code but that doesn't bother me one bit, especially since everything in most smart phones are asynchronously coded anyway..

I am looking at taking on porting mono and silverlight mono to AROS in fact so I can move the same apps I make in and out of browser for the Mac, PC and Windows Desktop and Linux (and x-box 360 via .net XNA) over to AROS in fact..

And with my app I am not afraid to say I'll be laughing all the way to the bank even if it only sells 1/4 of what an iPhone/Android app will (Which I am porting to with Monotouch and Monodroid already)..

As far as objective C I have been doing Objective-C since the NextStep boxes in 1993..

The same sad interface builder and NIB files are used today to do iphone apps. Nothing beats Expression Blend for Windows Phone's Video and animation drag and drop integration for the UI with it either even AppInventor..

If you guys want to really see how I feel about my experience with iPhone..

Check out my little slideshare.. 17,000 people have viewed it worldwide since July.. The fact is most of them agree with me..  I had wall street analysts and money people calling me for any opinion after this was published. Because I nailed the reality of it.. It's a comparable hello world.. if you can do the drag and drop video and sample data that Blend for Windows Phone can do and REST connectivity as quickly let me know..

We can have a race..

The reality of smartphone tools is you can't do this with anything else out there..

Pyro: Several things for you  to clue in to here: one content agregation and caching. The number of views don't include embeds... My stats since I posted look more like this...

That was a google analytics capture from earlier today..

What do you develop for Windows ?? Would I know the product.. If I call the Microsoft office or DPE office will they know about it?

Time will tell.. You guys have been wrong more times than one.. I suspect all of the major apps will be out there, I have about 5 of them rolled into one right now with more extensibility on the way..

You guys always discount what I have to say here and I don't really feel a need to justify it but that's how I feel. I was hoping you guys would at least say something nice about my app, but this crowd here is to tough and hardened to enjoy everything out there and just have fun with technology.

Why do you guys always have to show things as winners or losers instead of being supportive of others here.. It's a little disappointing.. This is why the community has collapsed on itself.. It's not open to new things and new people..

To be fair I am developing desktop and console versions of this for the Mac and PC and iPhone and Android.. You guys need to know that this is not the same operating system or framework as the old Windows Mobile too.. There are two development environments for it, XNA (as in Xbox 360 and it comes with X-box live built in, with a GPU capable of handling X-Box ports with great shader technology etc.) and the other environment is Silverlight which I have been using before. Calling it Windows Mobile is referring to a completely different operating system underneath (the compact .net framework isn't even the same).. I am not worried because Windows Phone 7 is only one of my targets..

If I can get video streaming working well enough AROS might be another ;-)

I used to be an actual classic Amiga developer, suprisingly enough the folks who owned the Amiga licenses would never pony up with access to their developer program for me or get me ahold of any developer hardware. Mostly I beleve because I was a CATS developer.. Plus when I was out in Seattle I caught the fact that their "offices" weren't really open during the time/location that they said they were and gave up after a couple of days.
