Amiga 3000 PSU fan
« on: February 09, 2010, 06:53:13 PM »
Hi everybody :)

First, I want to say I'm sorry for my "english" :(

I'm trying to "clean" my old A3000; it works well after many years into my garage, but it's very noisy.
I'd like to change the PSU fan, it's a 8x8x3 cm, 2 wires.
Could I buy one of those new generation fan, also if they have 3 wires?
Is it possible that they will be more quiet?

I have many many questions, but I'd like to cure the A3000 one issue at a time...

Thank you :)

Jen

I searched what you suggested and found the Noctua NF R8
not the cheapest fan I see... But it seems to be a good one.
Is it the one you intalled?
Is it really more quiet that the original one?
Thank you.

I understand what you say...
I switched on the PSU while it was open and the fan isn't so noisy...
But I'd like to preserve the original casing
