Any user with an Intelligence scale of 10 (or even 9) wouldn't need to bother phoning technical support. You won't be speaking to the geniuses, just all the idiots, so you can't really compare the numbers to get an average

Not true, ppl who know their technology WILL invariably call technical support when something isn't working right, to check for information they were unaware of, potential incompatibilites that may not be publicly known, misprints in manual that give rise to certain questions of procedure, etc...

I was the head of the technical support staff for a Computer Engineering firm for 5 years.

Also, yes it's true, the average Mac caller is completely technically inept...because Macs are marketed to the technically inept all the while stroking their ego's about what great "Artists" they are.

Not saying that there aren't good reasons to use/own a Mac, just saying that your average user doesn't do so well on the "How do I use my mouse?" question.

Now you'll find the same type of morons using Windows calling in too, but the general level seems to be a bit better on the PC user end, I dunno, the scale is tough to compare because there are SO MANY PC users.
