The colours can be changed with the Preferences program and there were countless screen hacks for changing the intuition gadgets back in the 1.3 days. Wouldn't know what the name of this one was though. Perhaps NewLook or something like that?
Boot a bunch of old 80s European PD disks on a 1.x machine/emulator and you will no doubt eventually find it. :-)
