The scart connector is just as good image quality wise, as you'd get with the 6 pin din. These old 1084s never had the 9-pin d-sub connector, it was either scart or din6.
Both connectors suck in equal amounts in terms of impedance matching and Philips build quality dictates that both types of connector wil probably have cracked solder joints by now, so time to reflow everything once you get it. :-)
