Does it have four RCA jacks in the back of the monitor?

The red and yellow jacks are s-video, the white and black are stereo audio.

L for luminance, C for chroma..

Just make a cable that has a female 4-pin minidin in one end and two RCA males in the other end. Make sure the LCA/CVBS switch next to the RCA jacks behind the monitor is in the LCA position.

S-video goodness, don't go ruining your S-video signal into composite if your monitor can do it natively. ;-)

I don't understand what you mean by wearing it out?

If you indeed have the four rca jacks, it is trivial to solder a cable to make it accept s-video.
