The safest, most complete solution: sell the 1942 to someone, then buy a real monitor and a scandoubler or a flicker fixer.
But since you already know about Aminet, please go there and search for 1942 (or 1940). You'll find a few related files there.
I have a 1942 too. Doesn't get much use.. Basically it's the 15kHz monitor for my A2000. I can't really recommend it to anyone.. :-(
