It's definitly worth it, but you might want to get an acceleratorcard to go with it. GGS-Data (gotta love them) got the Viper 1230 for around 1200:- at the moment which will suffice for just playing HD-installed games. (WHDLOAD requires acceleration as far as I know...)
Otherwise just do as someone else suggested, buy Amiga Forever 6 and launch it on a PC. It's really good, not the same feeling as sitting in front of a REAL amiga, but close enough.
And portable, if you get a laptop.
ooooh, and get the game Banshee AGA.. its beautiful and immensely fun!
