Well I should say more up-to-date and bullet proof, too allow me to use upcoming AmigaOne X5000 more often and less using of my Macs.
Web Browser.
Now don't get me wrong, when I used owned my AmigaOne X1K, I enjoyed using Odyssey. I feel it is the best most modern web browser we had at the time, and I think when I sold my X1K 1.5 years ago it was 1.23 version I used. Guessing it is about the same today.
What I dream for in 2017 is I can use my X5K as a more main system and tend to use less my Macs. For that to happen, since I need access to work related web sites, is a more up-to-date web experience. This alone will allow me to use a Amiga OS 4.1FE even more for every day work.
For work I need to access a number of secure websites, and gmail apps, and the like. Odyssey at the time would not work with them all. So I used my loonix i7 based system to do so.
Would be great if say A-Eon/AmigaKit can one day take up the task of a new modern up-to-date web-browser for us all. I am happy to pay $ for this as I use it for business. I don't expect free and for any Amiga NG folks out there, I bet they are also willing to pay for something modern. Not some kickstarter or one we chip in and hope for the best, like Timberwolf, but taken on professionally by some company like A-Eon/AmigaKit and have folks buy it when it comes out.
I would happily pay. Will allow me to get entrenched into Amiga OS even more.
I bet many of us Amiga NG folks would agree an up-to-date and one that continues updates after-wards Amiga OS web browser would be a big asset to the AmigaNG Platform.
Anyway, one can dream. Until then I will have to hammer on my Mac and Loonix boxes for more professional work. Although AmiKit X will be neat when it comes out for more than Alice systems, I do dream an Amiga OS 4.1FE native browser, even Odyssey as I really like that one, would be cool.
But something that gets updated professionally and to be paid for so we know support will come is OK by me.
