a couple of updates from the amiwest blog to bring to your attention: first up is that sam crow will be at the show this year on behalf of apollo accelerators:
so if you're interested in playing with a system with the latest vampire installed, amiwest is your best bet. and the organizing committee has also finalized arrangements for group rates at the show hotel:
and lastly the amiwest organizing committee is soliciting feedback on why you, personally, still use and enjoy the amiga platform in 2016. more information here.
Wow! One email to inquire about the cost of a table and suddenly there's a blog entry announcing I'm coming! I feel some pressure now. First priority: Get my hands on that prototype Vampire 500! Second priority: Line up ways to save on travel expenses! Third priority: Actually sign up for a table!
Number 1: Getting the V500 is being worked on, not much more I can do now.
Number 2: Is anyone willing to chip in for gas money if you need a ride from North LA metro area? The tentative plan (current emphasis on tentative) is to drive from Northern Colorado, drop my wife off in Pasadena and drive from there up to Sacramento after a short stay at my in-laws'. After that I hope to stay for the whole show and drive back down to Pasadena and drive back to Colorado.
I also will need to room with somebody else once I get to Sacramento because I'm not sure I'll be able to get a room by myself on my budget.
Number 3: I may be able to get Airsoft Softwair to chip in on the table if I have a Hollywood demo on the same table. I have the equipment to do a second display for this so it may be a little crowded.
In summary: If I can make it to AmiWest, I will. I need to make arrangements first for a room once I get there and do some ride-sharing.
