There are some FPGA-based Amiga cores and systems being designed. The Natami is my favorite. It may cost something similar to the A4000 new but it will be a PCI card-slot box with a Super-AGA set of cores in its 2 FPGAs. To get the details and even participate in the design, see
http://www.natami.net/ . Another one is the MiniMig but it's not AGA compatible yet and it costs something too.
As for the next-generation systems it will be a little while yet before they get sufficient fragment shader capabilities in their graphics infrastructure to emulate the Copper coprocessor in a timely fashion without loading down the main processor.
