The AmigaKit website is down at the moment.  We'll see what they come up with when their back.

There was a thread about it on AmigaWorld.net saying that whenever two people tried to preorder at the same time it would lock the second one out.

Hmmm... They're back up now but I get the same result as you got.  If you look on their new products page it says at the bottom "expected date 12/05" so I assume they are looking for the ship date rather than any more preorders.
