What happen if AmigaOS 4 is ported to Power CPU, instead of PowerPC? Is it possible to run AmigaOS 4 on future opteron+Power boards?

The PC part of the name PowerPC is being dropped and the two product lines are being merged.  I hope that Power-based systems using the new BIOS announced on http://Power.org will run AmigaOS but they may just get MorphOS instead.

Only the server-oriented Power CPUs won't be worth porting AmigaOS to becuase they are specially made with large caches and so on and therefore very expensive.  The newer Power chips will come out with consumer-grade versions but the PowerPC name will not be used for them.
