For playing games with an A1200 you'll have better luck with a TV since VGA scan rates don't work with most games and scan doublers are expensive.

Likewise you can get an Ethernet adapter for the PCMCIA type 2 slot (16-bit) on the left side of the case.  If you decide to do so you'll need CNet.device and a compatible network card and a TCP/IP stack.  AmigaOS 3.9 comes with a full version of the Genesis TCP/IP stack but requires you to have Kickstart 3.1 ROM in your system.

The internet browsers available for the Amiga today aren't very good but there are people working on it.
