As a side note: Anim8 came out before Anim7 but Anim7 is faster because it uses a 32 bit word size (useful for A1200/3000/4000) and supports AGA unlike Anim 5 which is stuck with ECS at most.
All of these formats are bit-planar and cannot be viewed with most graphics cards without conversion.
