Is there any need now the whole things effectivly dead in the water?

Doesn't mean that Congress can't bring it back. The more people that protest it, and the more press it gets, the more aware people will be should Congress try this again.

Remember, the opposite of Pro is Con. So, the opposite of Progress is...

Always the usa acting like the police and saviors of the world.

This has nothing to do with the US saving the world. This is media conglomerates trying to throw their weight around to protect their wallets. Their preferred method of choice for doing this? Get members of Congress, whom they give money to for (re)election, to pass restrictive laws that befit only the conglomerates.

And in the wake of that, the censoring of the internet, the loss of jobs and a detriment to the already weak economies all over the world. If you want to blame someone, don't blame the US as a whole. Blame the big media companies trying to push this through the US Congress.

Silicon Valley has in recent years become a big force in politics. The Jedi Knights to the Sith Lords of the movie studios and record labels. Their efforts like the blackouts are getting people's attention and getting them to contact their reps in Congress to to get it stopped.

Congress may for the most part be busted up, but it isn't totally broke. Yet..... ;)
