Changing memory priority at start up.
« on: July 30, 2003, 03:42:15 AM »
Hi All,

I have an A3000 with 16Megs on the MB and 8Megs on a SCSI card and running OS3.9.

I decided to try a programme (mempri I think it was) to change the priorty on my memory so that the startup stuff would get loaded into the 8megs thereby saving the as much as possible of the 16Megs for use ofter the system had come up.

Problem is, the system boots up initially, reads/patches the OS3.9 stuff and does it's customary reboot but then custantly goes into a guru/reboot loop :(

I also wrote a quick prog to allocate a fair chunk of the 16 megs at startup as a test but had the same issue.

Does OS3.9 need to do it's patching in 32bit memory and doesn't like Zorro memory ?

Anyone have any information ?
