Is it so it so that none of the A1200 ACA cards will fit with the trapdoor closed?
The ACA cards fit better than my other A1200 trapdoor cards. The worst card I have for poor fit is a RAM expansion card. Let's face it, most A1200 trapdoor cards don't actually fit very well do they? I find it best to raise the motherboard a bit with washers around the motherboard screws near the trapdoor area and cut away all that stupid plastic in the way that stops the card sitting higher (floppy drive side). Alternatively, don't close the trapdoor - although closing it won't hurt anything but does slightly bend cards / motherboard. But the ACA1232 is fine, there's even room for a heatsink on the CPU and you can still close the trapdoor providing you cut that stupid plastic away. Watch out for shorts to the keyboard though if you do modify the trapdoor, you may want to insulate certain areas. I used a small foam pad for my 1232 which stops the board moving up and also prevents a short with the bottom solder pins of the card. The Apollo 1260 with its 3.3V regulator board does have a REAL danger of shorting with the keyboard underside...
Whenever a trapdoor card is fitted, everyone should take care and LOOK what is happening before turning on (shine a torch down the side and look for possible shorts). Keyboard sag makes things worse - I bent all my keyboards straight years ago as they had all sagged in the middle with age.
