How much free RAM do you have before you load the game? It sounds as though there's not enough RAM to load the whole game into memory at once.

Why are you using version 16.x WHDLoad? Does Agony not work with the new version 18 of WHDLoad?

The garbled text is the NewIcon. If you don't use NewIcons there are tools on aminet like killnewicon that will sweep your drive and delete those garbled tooltypes (which can amount to significant space savings if hard drive storage is tight).

This 4MB fast RAM you have - is it part of your IDE controller? It may be that the memory is not contiguous, but even with preload off, it shouldn't take as long to load as you're saying (edit: yes, actually could take 2 mins).

The IDE controller connect to the side expansion port, no RAM. The 4 MB fastRAM connect to the CPU socket. http://www.bigbookofamigahardware.com/bboah/product.aspx?id=1950
I use once the Agony with 2 MB chipRAM only. The loading slow, screen off, too little RAM to the preload.
The all other program preload fast with fastRAM.

Loading 2 minutes, 1:9-3:9. Let's Play the Amiga: Agony https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZ4WR4heYqM
This normal? The config unknown.

I don't think the gentleman in that video knows much about Amiga's. In the video you can hear when the floppy drive is being accessed, so the game is sat there playing music when he could have pressed fire to go into the game. Personally I've not played it from floppy, but on my A600 68000 with 2MB fast RAM it loads as fast as any other game (few seconds iirc). There was graphics corruption on the owl though until I upgraded to ACA620. This may have been fixed by now for all I know.
