OK, I plugged the floppy drive back in and booted a 1.3 workbench disks (my 3.1 disks are around somewhere.....) and it worked, I then rebooted off the CF (hard drive) and everything works properly!! I had noticed the floppy light was staying on when I first turned it on, which is why I disconnected the floppy drive. I thought it would work without it. Anyways as long as it keeps working...:-).

Could be a floppy drive issue then. If you have a can of air duster you could try giving it a good blow. Or with a vacuum giving it a good suck. Or with some oil, giving the switches a good lubing/cleaning.
