I am curios this is boggling my mind for a while. I only have 32 MB of RAM in my Apollo 1260 is that enough to run AmiQuake 2 AGA? I mean three things where I have no intention to do:
- I will fight with all my force NOT to tower my A1200 at all cost! I mean at all cost!!!
- Unable to add additional 32 MB of RAM slot to my Apollo 1260 because I will be forced to tower my A1200 that means $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and on top of it look at #1
- Replace my accelerator card with weaker Blizzard card.
I've always wanted to try soldering wires (or ribbon cable) to the 2nd simm socket connections so that I can remotely fit the 2nd simm socket...just short wires, enough to move the socket so that I wouldn't need to "towerize".
I remember a few years ago that someone fitted a flat (maybe slightly angled) 2nd simm socket to the Apollo which didn't interfere with the keyboard... so they had 64MB, and still in the desktop case. My CPU is socketed though, so that wouldn't be an option for me as my CPU sits too high which would probably interfere with the low simm.
