i decided to retry my 4 meg compact flash card an adaptor ..to discover i didnt have CF0 installed ...but card still doesnt show ..i get a card is write protected message when i try to prep it..its a canon card came with the pcmcia adaptor so im assuming it should work ..however the software was faulty so i basically had to copy fat95 etc to there proper places ..any ideas ?? ..not a biggie but be nice to work ..
What do you mean by "try to prep it" ?
All that needs to be done is the following:
Copy the file "fat95" from the following archive to L:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/fat95Copy "compactflash.device" from the following archive into DEVS:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/cfdDrag the "CF0" file (a mountlist) somewhere on your hard drive, and click on it when you want to mount your CF. I keep mine in SYS:Storage/DosDrivers.
So if after clicking on the CF0 icon your CF isn't recognised, just select the drive either from Workbench, or from the format tool and do a quick format. It will say "Initializing..." for a while, but then your CF drive should appear and be usable.
Putting the line "CardReset" early on in your Startup-sequence would be a good idea also:
