Hi I have problem with CF 4Gb Kingston with white flower model ,
my Ami 1200 does not recognize my card on the desktop WB  displays         CF0:NDOS , Im try formated fat 16 fat 32 on winodows , mac and always is the same problem !!! I have all drivers to CF and drivers to  fat95 installed in my workbench

Are you using the latest compactflash.device (from archive cfd.lha)?
Make sure you're using v1.27 (http://aminet.net/search?query=cfd)
I had the terrible "slow down/freezing" issue with v1.25 and a 133x Transcend 4GB CF Card, which later worked when I updated to v1.27.

Have you tried doing a quick format of CF0: on the Amiga?

I takes about 2 minutes to do the quick format of my 4GB CF card on a standard A600, during which time the format tool displays "Initializing", and the Amiga is quite unresponsive during this time. Maybe you're not waiting long enough?

I wait long time:) one hours , I check version of my installed cfd drivers this is older version 1,25

Okay, give 1.27 a try and see how that goes.

If in doubt, fat95 goes in SYS:L
compactflash.device goes in SYS: Devs

Do you have CF0 in Devs/DosDrivers? I always keep it in SYS:Storage/DosDrivers and click on CF0 from there if and when I require it.
Try running CardReset if the card is already in the machine after after a reboot (saves you having to take the card out and putting it in again).

What CPU and ram do you have in your A1200?
If you have just a simple ram card expansion of 8MB in the trapdoor, then it will conflict with the PCMCIA port which will cause you problems. Jumper the card to 4MB if possible to fix that (if indeed you are using such a card).
People do have issues with some cards and some adapters, so yeah, try another CF card and give it a go. ;)

i decided to retry my 4 meg compact flash card an adaptor  ..to discover i didnt have CF0  installed ...but card still doesnt show ..i get a card is write protected message  when i try to prep it..its a canon card came with the pcmcia adaptor so im assuming it should work ..however the software was faulty so i basically had to copy fat95 etc to there proper places ..any ideas ?? ..not a biggie  but be nice to work ..

What do you mean by "try to prep it" ?
All that needs to be done is the following:

Copy the file "fat95" from the following archive to L:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/fat95

Copy "compactflash.device" from the following archive into DEVS:
http://aminet.net/package/disk/misc/cfd
Drag the "CF0" file (a mountlist) somewhere on your hard drive, and click on it when  you want to mount your CF. I keep mine in SYS:Storage/DosDrivers.

So if after clicking on the CF0 icon your CF isn't recognised, just select the drive either from Workbench, or from the format tool and do a quick format. It will say "Initializing..." for a while, but then your CF drive should appear and be usable.

Putting the line "CardReset" early on in your Startup-sequence would be a good idea also:

Hope this helps.
