Just downloaded it and tried it on this win98 laptop and IE is about 5 times faster.
Rendering or loading?

If it's loading, you have to keep in mind that IE has an (unfair) advantage in that it is preloaded with Windows, hence the faster reaction time compared to other browsers.

Hmm, the only gripe i have with it currently is the download manager, which for some reason will not close properly every time. This used to work great before 0.8 (iirc).

That's on Windows, though, on Linux it's another matter. I get random crashes, mostly caused by flash pages (evil, i tell thee) and java. Also severe memory leaks, it often uses over 100 mb of ram, with just one window showing google.  :-?

It's still by far the best browser I've ever used, been using it (almost) exclusively since some time in the Phoenix days (0.4 or so). I only occasionally have to use IE for those pages that just suck.
