How big a deal are 060 incompatibilities?
« on: February 07, 2011, 10:54:12 PM »
So I have seen mention that 060 processors are incompatible with a fair share of amiga software.

How big of a problem is this?

Should I expect a few problems here and there, significant issues or "oh my god, nothing bloody works" ?

I play quite a few games on my 1200, so thats the baseline I have to compare against.

Great to have new users in the amiga community IMHO... that is one myth that is still around. Oh,, another one, ISA slots in the A2000 is not electrically connected to the Amiga so u can not attach ISA network cards to it. :-)

heh, old hand but I could never afford any of this stuff back in the day :)

So in your opinion, an 060 won't cause a lot of problems ?

well, a lot of my games are HD installed, though I suppose I can always check out WHDload as well :)

Thanks guys! Very reassuring

A follow up question if you dont mind: I've heard that the 060 is generally okay in a 1200 wedge case. Should I concerned about heat issues?
