Posting this from my amiga

after a good afternoon working on it, I finally got my wireless card to work, and aweb to coorperate.
after disabling images, it actually runs a lot better than I hadimagined. The forum looks a bit butchered but its workable.

Still need to figure out how to make YAM and an MSN client work but hey, i'm one step closer now!

yeah, no such option here. I dont even have a cd rom for her yet, though that wont be too far off I imagine.
Managed to get sabremsn to work, at least for now. Increasing the stack significantly seems to help

theres a few, but they will feel pretty primitive. If you have a machine with RTG, life might be easier.
As far as recording stuff, my miggy is PAL, and I live in NTSC land, so im not sure thatd be an option, or at least work well, even if I had the equipment (my dvd player at the moment is an aging PS2)

I use screen capture software on the PC: Hyperionics. On WinUAE there is a built-in recorder. Is there no screen capture for Amiga?

Good question actually

wireless is a lot more of  a pain to set up, but I dont think mine is flaky at all. In fact, its been pretty rock solid so far.

You do need to have a wireless router of course.

Wireless is easier on a 1200 or 600, as you can use PCMCIA cards. There's ethernet cards for the zorro equipped miggy's but they require wire.

yeah, i'd say go for it. web browsing is tolerable for most things, you can use instant messaging pretty well, and it makes getting stuff off aminet a snap :)
