To be honest we are not so mad about pancakes in the uk.
And we are not so crazy as the yanks and put big blocks of butter on top of them 
that, indeed, is disgusting.
Proper pancakes are thin, not thick globs of stuff.
Goes great with a bit of vanilla ice cream too
