Good parenting... Oh, uh, that wasn't what you meant was it... ;)

Having children certainly makes one feel retro, I can attest to that :D

I'm actually facinated by how many retro things my 6 year old is into.  Crazy Legs Crane.  Pink Panther.  Populous on the Amiga.  PacMan.

I actually bought him a Nes/Snes combo system for Christmas.  I think he is going to love it.

Ive been tempted to get a NES or sega for my kid when he gets a tiny bit older. SOmething a bit easier to manipulate for him (both controller and machine wise) and a lot of good kids games

Don't really have space or $$$ for much retro stuff.

Cool pinball machines! I'd love to visit you if I could.

Do you have any of those photos online?

I play original (1974) and Advanced (1978) Dungeons & Dragons - the ones that Gary Gygax wrote. I've got stacks upon stacks of books for AD&D (some of them autographed by the Man himself, may he rest peacefully), many duplicates, and copies many times over of the OD&D booklets (also one set of those autographed).

2nd Edition was a wimpy neutering of the guts-n-gore of the predecessors and characters in 3, 3.5 and 4 might as well wear blue tights, a red cape and sport an "S" on their chests.

Big RPG fan here. As my name implies, "my game" was always Runequest, but we play Rolemaster, AD&D (and I agree that the original AD&D is the way to go), Traveller and plenty of others.

Big fan of the original Warzone and Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader mini's games too.

Excellent; do you cast around any RPG forums?  I have one, and Knights & Knaves alehouse is another great one, and of course The RPG Site...oh, can't forget Dragonsfoot.

Also: much love for Rolemaster (aka Rulemaster/Rollmaster/Rulebastard :D ).  Not my first game of choice but I've had much fun with that one too.

Also also: 1e Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play!

I used to hang out at rpg.net and dragonsfoot but its been a while.

WFRP is awesome. I ended up selling my 2nd edition books. It might be better designed than 1st edition but the original book is just so damn inspirational

Everytime my wife complains about my amiga taking up space, I point to people who have old cars as a hobby and she's okay :)

Jeeps are awesome btw

Isn't it, though?

I asked for a 1e WHFRP book a couple years back for Christmas, and I expected to get a softback Hogshead copy/edition.  I got an original Hardback in near mint condition Games Workshop copy.

The wife went a-browsing and found one on addall used books for $50, figured "Oh it's Christmas, what the heck" and bought. :D

Very nice :) My current copy is the Hogshead one. Would love to have the GW version, especially in hardback.

Was always a bigger fan of the 1st edition combat system and the criticals :rtfm:
