Back in the day (C64 day), we could pretty easily take the floppy out of the case/jacket and wash it or replace it even..
Looking at a 3.5" disk now tho, I'm not sure you can open the floppy without ruining it..

Amiga 1000 w/ 4M FAST RAM, DUAL CF hard drives, external floppy.
