The 1000 can't read newer FFS floppies because it is a Workbench/Kickstart 1.3 based machine-newer (2.0+) FFS floppies can't be read by the older system software.

Interesting, I hadn't thought of that.  I thought FFS was a 1.3 thing?

How big an issue is this?
I know that there are quite a few Amiga 500 users with 1.3 out there, and I hadn't "noticed" them with problems reading newer formatted floppies.

Is it the Amiga 1000 1.3 kickstart that has problems or all 1.3 kickstarts?

Are there that many FFS floppies that this is/can be an issue?

Just wondering.
