Shouldn't matter what the device is, but what the heck is it anyway? scsi.device just like the A600 device (even though it's IDE).
Yes, it's scsi.device but it doesn't show up in the list. You need to click Define New... and on the next window select Read Configuration. I got my cfide v293 with 4gb cf working that way.
