And it comes with any OS you choose (Mac OS X Snow  Leopard not supported and must be customer installed)

Much respect to the reborn C= for saying it. Though if I were them, I'd be preinstalling aros to troll Hyperion.

EDIT:

                                                Apple OSX can be  customer installed using unmodified dvd install disk (requires  additional optional hardware).

I heard about that hardware, dunno if it ever got sold.

Is it me or does this new commodore have more sense than the old one? The advertsing is actually good for once.

Trouble with these computers like laptops is that they have that dreaded space at the bottom underneath the keyboard. Exactly why I never use the laptop I was given for work. Just hate it.

That space is a palm rest. I've used a laptop without it and its utterly terrible. Where are you supposed to put your hands?

A new Amiga with a complete OS would be a better thing than this kind of computer, looks like a laptop without screen...

Without VIC-II or SID it is NOT a C64 for god's sake! A PC is a PC running the same crappy OS as all other PCs...I don't care if it is inside a C64 case. Using a C64 keyboard on a PC is about as lame as these companies get

You quoted the wrong post. Also, it's clearly still a C64, but repaired and upgraded with commonly avalible parts. it makes the most logical sense. It's a manyfold improvement. So he can't use floppys or tapes any more. Who cares? floppys, especially those 5.25 ones, suck. they're slow, corrupt easily, and take up space. Tapes? lol.

When will people stop pretending the chips, the very thing that they cannot actually see -

erm even today using a dual core CPU JUST FOR reSID it is still not 100% accurate...

and who uses DVDs any more...so why bugger up the casing when a small SD card slot where the tape deck is works better.

Everyone uses DVDs, apart from cutting edge nerds who've moved to blueray. I don't think I've seen a computer in real life with an SD card slot.

No, it's what it does. In this case, it runs C64 software.

The muted colours, the familiar sound of combinations of SID features, the advantages and disadvantages producing the compromises compared to other 8bit machines at the time...THIS is what makes a C64...not some piece of shit mini ITX with an Intel/AMD running an emulator.

End result is the same. In fact it's better. You can actually use it as a serious computer now.

The perfect computer for my needs.
A real C64 and CRT display.

Space/Cost.

So between the two above I have no need for anything else...VICE runs fine with TV output and a Stelladaptor on Wintel box and real C64s of various flavours for the real nostalgia hit of loading music and clanky keyboard

SD slot is standard on laptops and desktops alike these days, and it has been like this for qutie a few years already.

Laptops? Sorry, I own a real computer. And i've never seen one on a deskstop, ever. The point is, they are not a Disc replacement. They are for cameras.
