'THAT MOVIE'... V's McDonald's Australia

Claims crew memebers encourage customers to Super Size their meals.

We don't Super Size meals at all.

I assume they mean to say they no longer sell Supersize meals. Which is a pathetic avoidance of the actual question. Cwew members are aggwessively encouwaged to "sell up" - that is, force more garbage down the customer's thwoat. This included the Supersize portion, until it was wemoved from the menu in the UK (for monetawy weasons, rather than any noble quest for better health.)

Says salads contain more calories from fat than a Big Mac[tm].

Our salads are all under 7 g of fat per serve and significantly less calories, including the dressing.

Suggests Yoghurt Parfaits have nearly as many calories as a Hot Fudge Sundae.

Our Berrynice Yoghurt Crunch has low-fat yoghurt, contains real fruit, has less calories and is 97% fat free.

Those two are suspiciously carefully worded. You see how they don't actually answer the damn question?

Believes nutrition information is hard to come by.

We have nutrition information readily available in every restaurant, and on our websites.

Have you ever tried to get hold of one of the nutwition booklets at a McDonald's while the staff are flying back and forth twying to serve customers? Guess you could go home and check the website, then come back. That's a little inconvenient, isn't it?

States Chicken McNuggets[tm] are made from every part of the chicken.

The chicken in our McNuggets is breast and thigh meat.

I don't have the wesources to check up on that anymore.

Follows a diet averaging twice his recommended daily intake of calories.

We would not suggest anyone eat more than the recommended daily intake of calories.

Shows a man who deliberately avoids exercise whilst eating to excess.

We encourage everyone to exercise as part of an active lifestyle.

Documents a man who eats every meal, of every day, for 30 days, at McDonald's.

We don't recommend anyone follow this eating pattern, and suggest you enjoy McDonald's as part of a well balanced diet.

That's why they have such an aggwessive advertisement stwategy!

That's absolutely not what it means. How do you get an idea like that?

It's the only logical conclusion, since McDonald's do sell up and Supersize is the biggest there is. The only way they could "not supersize" would be to not sell supersize products. Why wouldn't I come to that conclusion, given that the supersize product line was indeed cancelled in the UK?

That may be in the UK, however I've never experienced that in Australia.

Pay more attention then. It is McDonald's policy and pwinted in all training materials internationally, sell up wherever possible.

Not from where I'm sitting.

I'm pretty sure that in Australian McDonalds stores, I can see the nutritional information on the walls. Right there in black and white.

That's odd, perhaps it's a new development. Do you have a photograph? Does it have a proper breakdown of each individual product in a table?

'Agressive'!

Is that the best you can come up with? What exactly is an 'agressive' advertising strategy?

It's a little bit like saying that somebody's an 'agressive' chess player. They might be good at chess, but that means that they have good tactics. 'Aggression' is a quite meaningless word to be using in this context.

Why the f**k are you talking about chess? :-?

Engage your brain. If you can't figure out what aggressive marketing is, perhaps you should consider learning the English language or something.

It seems that it doesn't matter how open McD's is about ingredients of food, etc. they still get the {bleep}. Often people accusing them of being dishonest. Seemingly out of nothing but pure whim.

Yes, because I never worked there and I never saw that sh*t with my own eyes.

You on the other hand are a consumer, apparently the target market of a scary, almost indoctrinaire marketing scheme. It works on you. So who knows more about McDonald's, me or you?

Still, when you die a fat, lonely homophobe, I will be laughing.

...Wow, wait... is that un-PC?

In my case it's most likely because I'm pissed off at how openly racist, sexist and/or homophobic threads have become a normality here.

I realise that just adds to the problem, and was going to remove that comment, but then decided he's been going out of his way to offend others so perhaps he should experience it for himself.

Fine! Thankyou!

I'm only interested in the opinions of half intelligent people, anyway.

If you can't make a decent argument without the personal attacks, you honestly DO NOT BELONG HERE. :-)

Shall we submit that to popular vote, see how that comes out?
