Nonsense. Both use ISO 9660.
Windows/Mac OS X/Linux don't support the
amiga Rock Ridge extensions, but those are only used for protection bits and comments anyway.
What many consider "PC format cd filesystem" is actually another extension to ISO 9660 called
Joliet. That also is backwards compatible, although having no support for it means you can get truncated/weird file and directory names.
I've never had any problem whatsoever with burned media on amigaos 3.x or morphos, be it cd-r, cd-rw, dvd-r or dvd-rw.
