Amigas have 3.5" floppy disk drives, not 2.5". You can't install 2.5" drive.
Amiga games are not called "roms". That's what console games are called by some people though. If you mean 'adf's, those are just images-files of Amiga floppies. You can't just put adf on a floppy and boot off it, you rather need to write the image-file to a floppy using Amiga itself (by using TransADF or similar tool).
Standard A1000 requires a Kickstart "ROM" boot-floppy, which needs to be booted from before anything else can be done.
Standard unexpanded A1000 won't be able to run most of the amiga games either, mainly because the lack of memory (half of it is used to hold the Kickstart "ROM"). A500 would be much better suited for gaming, but there still is a problem of getting the games to amiga floppies.
