Connecting internal 34pin floppy drive to external 23pin port

I made a cable like this to connect an internal floppy drive to the external port but it didn't work :confused:

Don't you need to do some funky stuff for the drive id so that the disk is detected?

Well that is where he got the cable from.

As long as RDY stays high, then the drive id might just work out on it's own.

But it really depends on what drive it is, how it's jumpered etc.

The cable is designed for hooking up to ians' pc drive adaptor board.

cool, but I don't think you gain speed with more drives, it still copies track by track.

Can't you enable writing multiple drives at once? obviously verifying has to be done sequentially.
